A Rewarding Lightbulb
I had a very rewarding experience today with educating someone about CSS based design.
I have a fairly new manager in a company that I do work for. He’s the atypical manager in that he is very technical and experienced with Windows and a smattering of web development.
As I ran through my coursework I’ve created for CSS based web design, there was instance after instance where you could see the light bulb turn on and he made the connection between the old way of doing things and how it’s replaced by a better methodology. I guess it comes from having to explain things time and again and have it fall on deaf ears. It’s so rewarding when someone gets the reasons why we do what we do and why it’s better. I wish it were this easy always, but then I guess that would just be too easy now wouldn’t it.
